Kevin Gendron

Kevin Gendron, MS, CSCS is Better Athletic Development’s President and Director of Sports Conditioning.   He has trained/coached thousands of athletes for over 19 years and has worked in commercial, university, corporate and rehabilitation settings.

Coach was an all-state athlete in 3 sports, football, baseball and track at LaSalle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island.   He took up natural bodybuilding following an injury that sidelined his college football career as a running back for SCSU and placed 5th and won “best poser” in his first bodybuilding show.

Coach Gendron is the Speed, Strength and Conditioning consultant for WBA Super Welter Weight World Champion, Travis Simms and the semi-pro football 2006 Super Bowl Champion CT Giants.   He has helped several semi-pro players achieve the dream of playing at the professional level and has a passion of helping his high school senior athletes play at the college level.   Coach Gendron consults with many local high school and college teams from every sport as well as several MMA fighters.

He has co-authored “Speed Secrets of the Strength Coach” the most comprehensive book on speed development to date which can be found at speedexperts.com.   He was one of only 55 elite fitness professionals chosen nationwide to be a contributing author to the “Power of Champions” and is one of the founding members of the American Association of Personal Trainers.  He is a regular contributing author for several publications and websites including sportspecific.com and has presented workshops and camps on strength and conditioning, speed development, agility, pre-game warm up, proper hydration, off/pre season conditioning, cardiovascular risk factors and weight management to thousands of clients throughout the northeast.    He is a North East Advisor in AdvoCare, the nation’s best sports and nutritional supplement endorsed by hundreds of professional and Olympic athletes and backed by the best science minds worldwide.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology/Human Performance from Southern Connecticut State University.  He spent 4 years managing the rehabilitation facility for Multicare Physician and Rehab Group in Milford, CT primarily rehabilitating cervical and lumbar spine injuries, ACL and rotator cuff repairs and frozen shoulder injuries.  He has managed Corporate Health and Fitness Programs for 11 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Clairol, Hoffman LaRoche, Reckitt & Coleman and Procter & Gamble to name a few.

Coach Gendron is certified as a Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is also a Certified in Low level Light therapy using the “Cold Laser” for athletic performance enhancement with hundreds of athletes.

He regularly attends regional and national conferences and workshops on Sports Speed, Plyometrics, Functional Training, Power, Periodization, Training Program Design and Sport Specific Conditioning.   He is a founding member of the Elite Sports Training Alliance; a nationwide group of top professional strength coaches that meet once per month to review scientifically based and proven training methods implemented at every level.

“I admire [Coach Gendron’s] passion and dedication to his clients, always being aware of issues to help them personally, not just physically. He always makes his sessions meaningful and educational. He has a knack for building a rapport easily and making his clients feel comfortable with him and with the exercise/training protocol prescribed.

“His professionalism has led him to achieve his most recent venture and 10-year dream: the opening of Better Athletic Development. He has helped his youngest clients develop into responsible young adults and focused athletes with improved self-confidence and self-image.”
